Northrop Grumman is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer in Apopka, FL to lead a team of engineers in mechanical design, integration, and testing for laser and optical systems. The role requires strong leadership, advanced mechanical skills, and DoD Secret clearance eligibility.

The position emphasizes technical leadership, collaboration across programs, and delivering high-precision electro-optical hardware within project constraints. US citizenship is required.

Competenze

• B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 12 years of experience, or M.S. with 10 years, or a PhD with 8 years of experience.
• 3D CAD proficiency, NX, CREO, etc.
• Proficient in basic theoretical calculations of Mechanical analysis (stress, thermal and pressure)
• Experience leading mechanical design activities generating models, drawings, and BOMs for production and development projects
• Experience with ANSI Y14.5M GD&T specifications
• Mechanical design and drawings of electro-optical systems
• US Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
• Experienced in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) study

• Provide technical oversight for engineering activities performed by the mechanical team.
• Mentor a team of 8-10 Mechanical Engineers.
• Lead and execute mechanical design activities including hardware development plans and hardware integration and test strategies.
• Collaborate with program management, engineering functionals, manufacturing, and supply chain to meet program milestones.
• Guide design changes and ensure compliance with project constraints and budgets.
• Facilitate internal meetings to support design, production, and problem resolution.
