Job summary

TCWGlobal is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design and development of high-volume consumer electronics products, including wireless security cameras and video doorbells. This hands-on leadership role covers concept to mass production, with emphasis on packaging, enclosures, thermal management, and cost considerations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of mechanical engineering/product design in consumer electronics.
• Hands-on experience designing injection-molded plastics and enclosures.
• Experience leading mechanical programs from development to production.
• Strong 3D CAD proficiency; Creo/Pro-E preferred; SolidWorks also considered.
• Knowledge of DFM, tooling, tolerance analysis, and high-volume manufacturing.
• Independent with strong problem-solving and communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical product development from concept through pilot to mass production.
• Design plastic and metal enclosures for cameras and connected devices.
• Own detailed mechanical design including injection-molded parts and tolerances.
• Serve as mechanical technical lead, driving design decisions.
• Collaborate with Industrial Design to balance function, manufacturability, cost, aesthetics.
• Partner with suppliers, tooling vendors, ODMs, and manufacturing teams.
• Support engineering analysis including tolerance, thermal, and stress.
• Develop mechanical specs, drawings, and design requirements.
• Communicate decisions, status, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Support products through tooling, validation, production ramp, and ongoing manufacturing.
