Job summary

Marotta Controls, Inc. in Parsippany, NJ seeks a Staff Mechanical Engineer (Analysis) to evaluate structural and thermal systems under extreme conditions. You’ll move from hand calculations to high-fidelity modelling, informing design decisions across the development lifecycle.

Ideal candidates have a Master’s in mechanical engineering (or comparable) with 8+ years in mechanical kinematic system design and 2+ years in FEA. Strong communication and aerospace familiarity are valued.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree preferred; bachelor’s considered.
• 8+ years of experience in design, build, and/or test of mechanical systems.
• 2+ years in structural and thermal analysis of mechanical systems and/or electronics packaging in FEA (ANSYS preferred).
• Ability to construct and evaluate kinematic models (ANSYS or Simscape preferred).
• Familiarity with fluids, metals, and non-linear materials.
• Experience with aerospace or military product standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate performance of structural and thermal systems under extreme loading and environmental conditions.
• Inform product development and qualification through first principles and high-fidelity modelling.
• Communicate complex information to technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Occasional light travel may be involved.
