Job summary

Valar Atomics in the United States is seeking a Staff Mechanical Design Engineer to design, develop, and validate mechanical systems for advanced energy technologies. You will translate concepts into production-ready hardware, ensuring performance, manufacturability, and cost targets while mentoring engineers.

Collaborate across electrical, manufacturing, and systems teams, oversee prototype fabrication, and contribute to design controls and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in mechanical design and product development.
• Proven track record of delivering production-ready hardware.
• Expertise in CAD and drafting standards (SolidWorks/Creo/NX).
• Strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with FEA and CFD analyses.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design efforts for major subsystems.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure design rigor.
• Develop detailed 3D CAD models, drawings with GD&T.
• Perform structural, thermal, and fluid analyses to validate performance.
• Oversee prototype fabrication, assembly, testing, and refine designs.
• Collaborate with electrical, manufacturing, systems engineers for integration.
• Coordinate with vendors on DFM and manufacturing processes.
• Contribute to internal best practices and configuration management.
