Job summary

Valar Atomics Inc. seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to design, develop, and validate mechanical systems for advanced power technologies.

You will lead subsystems, balance performance with manufacturability and cost, and mentor junior engineers. You will collaborate with electrical, manufacturing, and systems teams, create detailed 3D models (SolidWorks, Creo, NX), perform FEA/CFD analyses, and guide prototypes from concept to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of mechanical design and product development experience.
• Proven track record delivering production-ready hardware.
• Expertise with CAD and drafting standards (SolidWorks, Creo, NX).
• Strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design efforts for major subsystems balancing performance, manufacturability, and cost.
• Mentor junior engineers and review designs for consistency and rigor.
• Develop 3D CAD models, assemblies, and drawings with GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Perform structural, thermal, or fluid analyses (FEA/CFD) to validate performance.
• Oversee prototype fabrication, assembly, and testing; refine designs accordingly.
• Collaborate with electrical, manufacturing, and systems engineers for integration.
• Manage vendor interactions for DFM feedback and process selection.
• Contribute to internal best practices for design documentation and configuration management.
