Intuitive is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer to sustain and improve product performance, reliability and capacity across advanced energy surgical instruments.

You will lead root-cause analyses, guide cross-functional teams and contribute to new product development while addressing supply chain challenges and cost reductions. A strong sense of ownership and commitment to high quality are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical design and analysis for complex instruments.
• Ability to develop and document DOE plans and data analyses.
• Strong root-cause analysis skills for design and manufacturing issues.
• Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams and mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in cross-functional teams to understand performance, supply chain, and manufacturing issues.
• Identify, develop, test and document solutions meeting customer and business needs.
• Analyze instruments and components, develop DOEs, collect data, analyze and report.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing and suppliers by reviewing processes and fixtures.
• Support in driving anomalies and non-conformances to closure.
• Perform root cause investigations of latent and emerging defects.
• Set individual goals aligned with project goals.
• Contribute to design and development of new Advanced Energy instruments.
• Investigate and develop improvements or cost reductions for current or new instruments.
• Develop and collaborate on verification testing.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to other mechanical engineers.
