Job summary

Apex Technology, Inc. is seeking a Materials and Processes (M&P) Engineer to act as the technical focal for metallic materials and manufacturing processes used on spacecraft, propulsion systems, mechanisms, and flight hardware.

You will define requirements, run analyses, drive tests, and build a materials database for scalable production. Responsibilities include owning material selection, developing internal specs, supporting engineering requirements, and assisting in supplier qualification,

Qualifications

• U.S. Person status is required due to export-controlled data.
• Bachelor’s in mechanical, materials, physics, aerospace, or relevant engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in materials science and engineering.
• Experience with qualifying aerospace metallics (aluminum alloys, titanium alloys, specialty aerospace alloys).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own material selection, qualification, process requirements, and technical disposition for aerospace metallics.
• Develop and maintain internal Materials and Processes specifications and approved lists.
• Support engineering requirements for parts, materials, and manufacturing technologies.
• Participate in design reviews and failure analyses for metallic parts.
• Assist in supplier qualification and address routine inquiries.
• Analyze tool, material, part, or process failures and propose corrective actions.
• Coordinate lab activities and compile test data for interpretation.
• Communicate technical findings to cross-functional teams.
