Job summary

The ESAB Group Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to plan, initiate, and optimize manufacturing processes across major projects and product lines.

This role directs supporting personnel and collaborates with multi-functional teams to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals. Responsibilities include implementing new processes, maintaining existing ones, and preparing substantiating documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering field.
• Strong Project Management skills.
• Three to Five years’ experience as a Manufacturing Process Engineer in Manufacturing in related industry preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Light/Word/Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develops/implements new processes and maintains existing ones with Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost optimization.
• Prepares supporting documentation to substantiate changes to the process.
• Works with Quality, R&D, and Manufacturing to resolve quality issues.
• Communicates clearly and concisely, both written and verbally.
• Updates SAP/PC Based systems to modify processes, routings, and BOMs.
• Coordinates with maintenance and outside contractors on electrical, ventilation, and compressed air requirements.

Job Description

The Manufacturing Process Engineer plans, initiates, and performs manufacturing activities for major projects as well as develops and maintains manufacturing processes associated with specific product lines and machine equipment. This person will direct supporting personnel on projects.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develops/implements new processes as well as maintains existing processes with Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost optimization.
• Prepares supporting documentation to substantiate said changes to the process.
• Works with Quality, R&D, and Manufacturing to resolve/improve quality issues with products.
• Must be team worker, self-motivated, innovative; have well-disciplined engineering habits; be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both written and verbally.
• Ability to update computer system (SAP/PC Based) to make changes to processes, routings, and Bill of Materials.
• Participates with multi-functional teams to solve production problems.
• Ensures EH&S considerations during design and/or making changes to the facility.
• Designs, plans, and lays out plant systems, equipment, workstations, and facilities based upon general concepts/requirements minimizing required floor space.
• Works with Maintenance and/or outside contractors on the electrical, ventilation, and compressed air requirements for such areas.
• Coordinates activities of maintenance personnel during various stages of equipment installation and troubleshooting.
• Provides support for startup of new equipment and ensures that all equipment properly interfaces with other mechanical and electrical systems.
• Provides training to operators and maintenance personnel as necessary.
• Adheres to all safe work practices and/or safety policies.
• Specifies OEM’s equipment that would improve processes, productivity, and quality.
• Prepares substantiating documentation to support installation of said equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering field.
• Strong Project Management skills.
• Three to Five years’ experience as a Manufacturing Process Engineer in Manufacturing in related industry preferred.
• Proficiency in working with computers to include AutoCAD Light/Word/Excel.
• Works well on teams.
