Job summary

Radiant is seeking a Staff Loads & Dynamics Engineer in El Segundo, CA, to own and execute structural loads, vibration, and dynamic analyses for Kaleidos and related hardware. You will collaborate with structures, mechanical design, thermal, nuclear, and test teams to ensure structural integrity throughout the product lifecycle.

The role demands a hands-on engineer comfortable in fast-paced environments, with 5+ years in loads/dynamics, and strong FEA experience using ANSYS, Abaqus, or Nastran.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of loads, dynamics, or structural analysis experience.
• Strong fundamentals in structural mechanics, dynamics, and vibration.
• Experience with finite element modeling of metallic and composite structures.
• Proficiency with FEA tools: ANSYS, Abaqus, Nastran.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own static, dynamic, and transient loads for reactor systems and transport configurations.
• Perform structural dynamics analyses including modal, random vibration, shock, sine vibration and fatigue assessments.
• Use explicit dynamics to model nonlinear reactor response under transient events.
• Define transport and handling environments with shock and vibration.
• Generate load cases to support structural sizing, margins, and verification.
