Job summary

ZT Systems, a Sanmina Company, seeks a Staff Systems Engineer to design, implement, and manage Linux-based server infrastructure across the manufacturing environment. You will support 24/7 uptime, upgrade hardware and software, and collaborate with teams to drive automation and optimization.

You will bring 5+ years of Linux administration experience, strong scripting skills, and expertise with high-availability services, virtualization (VMware ESXi), and enterprise storage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 5+ years of working experience as a Linux Administrator.
• Experience with designing and managing high-availability services.
• Proficient in Linux encryption, Samba, Bash, Python scripting, and patching.
• Ability to evaluate security requirements and perform system hardening.
• Develop automated daily monitoring and log reviews; backups.
• Experience with DHCP, DNS, SSH; CentOS/Ubuntu/RedHat.

Responsibilities

• Participate in projects and engineer new systems.
• Maintain and develop all Linux infrastructure for a 24/7 uptime service.
• Monitor performance of critical servers and applications and perform corrections as needed.
• Manage best practices on Linux systems across the manufacturing floor.
• Upgrade and maintain hardware/software in the IT infrastructure
• Engage and manage 3rd-party vendors to achieve expedient resolution
• Manage software upgrades, patches, hotfixes on Linux infrastructure.
• Create and maintain system documentation for specs, designs, procedures and logs.
• Document all processes, system changes/fixes, and issues.
• Collaborate with other teams to develop automation strategies and deployment processes
