Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Staff Lead Rear Seat Structures Engineer in Warren, MI, a hybrid role requiring on-site presence at least three days per week. The role leads a team of DREs to advance seat structure design, integration, and cost optimization across programs.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Engineering and extensive seat structures experience, with strong collaboration across global partners and DFSS methodology. Relocation assistance is eligible, and sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science - Engineering.
• Extensive experience in seat structures and system development.
• Strong communication, organizational and planning capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead design development and integration of highly complex seat structure programs.
• Coordinate integration and tradeoffs between seat structures and seat systems to optimize overall cost.
• Provide technical leadership for seat structures, performance, and tradeoffs (comfort, crash worthiness, mass).
• Drive innovative core products and manage DFMEAs for seat CCC and CMS.
• Support DREs and Technical Specialists in interface control, supplier kickoff, and issue resolution.
