Job summary

ASML US, LP in the United States seeks a Staff Laser Scientist to join the Source Research team, focusing on technologies for next-generation high-power EUV and DUV laser sources.

You will lead architecture, model systems, and run experiments, collaborating with engineering and product teams to translate learning into new product nodes. A PhD with 3+ years (or MS with 6+ years) is required.

Qualifications

• PhD with 3+ years (or MS with 6+ years) in laser physics, optics, photonics, electrical engineering or equivalent field.
• Proven ability to identify system-level needs and decompose into technical directions.
• Hands-on experience with breadboard laser and optical system design, alignment, and performance characterization.

Responsibilities

• Guide the development of high-level architecture definitions for laser design, including discharge type, gas flow, optical design and other areas relevant to the lasers.
• Lead product pathfinding at low technical readiness through to system-level validation.
• Create models of the system to identify areas for improvement and innovation.
• Identify and maintain bi-directional requirements between lasers and other system functions.
• Demonstrate system-wide performance targets to meet future technology roadmap.
• Develop and execute system and subsystem performance tests and analyze results.
