Gabriel Group seeks an Expert-level Landman based in Fort Worth, TX to manage complex land, title, and easement matters for energy and infrastructure projects. You will review title commitments, coordinate with attorneys and engineers, and prepare land-related contracts with minimal supervision.

Requires strong communication, meticulous record-keeping, and ability to work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. Residency in Fort Worth preferred; relocation considered.

Job description

This position is based in Fort Worth, TX. Candidates must reside in Fort Worth, TX. or be willing to relocate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works with a multi-disciplinary team to accomplish goals and objectives within budgetary guidelines.
  • Expert-level Landman with experience in all facets of Landman proficiencies
  • Perform high-level land functions without direct supervision.
  • Handle advanced land operations and title curative matters, including reviewing title commitments, identifying and evaluating encroachments, title encumbrances, and other property-related issues, and coordinating with appropriate parties to support resolution or curative actions.
  • Prepare all types of land-related contracts utilizing support as needed. Expert interpreting, negotiating, and preparing Land related contracts, including document redlines as needed.
  • Interact and provide the Regional Land Manager, Regional Land Director, and customers with a high level of Land support and information critical to customer development efforts.
  • Order take-off, abstracts, and title opinions
  • Work with other members of the Land Department and support Regional Land Manager, and Regional Land Director to maintain all Land Records associated with projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of all land-related activities, including but not limited to contracts, records, titles, leases, encroachments, surface agreements, road access agreements, and any other legally binding contracts associated with private lands and agencies such as TXRRC, TXGLO, DOT, BLM, NMSLO, University Lands, BIA, USACE, OCC, among other agencies as required.
  • Work with customer’s legal departments, when necessary, in preparation of complex and non-standard type contracts
  • Conduct due diligence in connection with acquisitions and divestiture of customer properties.

  • Applicable Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) Easement or Right-of-Way (ERW) Agent Registration, when required based on assigned duties.
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting utility, energy, infrastructure, or renewable energy projects.
  • Texas real-property and land experience.
  • Oil and gas and/or mineral title experience.
  • Experience with ALTA/NSPS surveys and complex title curative.
  • Easement and right-of-way experience.
  • Experience with land-management systems and GIS applications.
  • Experience coordinating complex land projects, including managing schedules, deliverables, and deadlines.
  • Experience coordinating with attorneys, surveyors, engineers, and other third-party professionals in support of land and title matters.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities

This position will be located in our Fort Worth office with some flexibility. The role involves extended sitting at a desk, computer usage, and communication with colleagues and clients.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position applicable to both salaried and hourly employees. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday. However, occasional overtime may be required to meet the needs of the business. This could include evening or weekend work, travel, or participation in company-related events. Flexibility is essential to support business operations and ensure overall organizational success.

Travel

Occasional travel may be required. This travel is typically infrequent and may be limited to local or regional locations, including company field offices.
