Job summary

JetBrains is expanding the Kotlin team to build foundational libraries for core primitives used by developers worldwide. You will become an expert in select computer science domains and join a design committee that shapes the Kotlin API.

You will help create standard Kotlin tools, specifications, and language features, contributing to ongoing API evolution and performance improvements. Preferred candidates have deep JVM understanding, strong domain knowledge, and the ability to write concise

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Kotlin and JVM internals with deep technical skills.
• Strong ability to design robust APIs and document trade-offs clearly.
• Experience writing design docs for complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain foundational libraries for Kotlin core primitives used by hundreds of thousands of developers.
• Become an expert in specific domains of computer science and software engineering.
• Be part of a design committee that decides how the Kotlin API should be shaped.
• Participate in creating standard Kotlin tools, specifications and language features.
