Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer - Java to lead design and modernization of enterprise-scale healthcare platforms. You will mentor engineers, drive architecture decisions, and deliver secure, scalable applications supporting millions of customers.

As a technical leader, you will partner with Product, Architecture, Security, and Operations teams to implement efficient solutions aligned with business goals and healthcare needs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience in a large-scale distributed environment.
• 7+ years of hands‑on Java development with modern Java ecosystems.
• 5+ years of Java, Spring Boot development experience.
• 5+ years leading cloud initiatives and cloud technologies.
• 5+ years designing and developing modern microservices and APIs.
• 3+ years of CI/CD pipeline automation.
• 3+ years in an Agile development environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable solutions that meet business requirements and quality standards.
• Contribute to architecture discussions with architects and senior engineers.
• Provide input on feasibility, performance, and scalability to meet objectives.
• Participate in code reviews and enforce coding standards and quality guidelines.
• Communicate and coordinate with team members to align on decisions.
• Promote best practices and adoption of new technologies to improve productivity.
• Mentor junior developers and support their growth.
• Collaborate with other teams to deliver high-quality code.
