Job summary

Block, Inc. is seeking a staff iOS engineer for the Neighborhoods team to shape mobile strategy across Cash App and Square. You will guide architectural decisions, balance product and technical tradeoffs, and stay hands‑on to deliver reliable, scalable iOS experiences.

You will lead cross‑team collaboration, mentor engineers, and drive AI‑assisted workflows to improve speed, quality, and learning while supporting a remote‑friendly work environment.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of iOS engineering design and implementation experience.
• Experience guiding iOS architecture with impact, including data flow and scalable patterns.
• Experience leading strategic mobile product initiatives with organizational impact, including AI tools.
• Proven ability to drive collaboration across teams, disciplines, and stakeholders.
• Mentoring engineers to expand scope and technical influence.

Responsibilities

• Guide Neighborhoods mobile technical direction across Cash App and Square.
• Lead cross‑organizational mobile workstreams redefining local commerce and integration across ecosystems.
• Architect mobile systems linking customer discovery in Cash App with seller ordering in Square POS.
• Stay hands‑on in iOS development using SwiftUI, UIKit, and related technologies.
• Mentor engineers, raise technical standards, and partner with product/design leaders to define scope.
