Job summary

Block, Inc. is seeking a Senior iOS Engineer for the Neighborhoods team to bring the vision of a local commerce network to life across Cash App and Square Point of Sale.

You will shape technical direction, stay hands-on, and lead cross-team decisions to deliver reliable, high-quality mobile experiences. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product managers and designers, and apply AI thoughtfully to improve engineering speed, quality, and learning while maintaining product integrity and

Qualifications

• 8+ years of iOS engineering design and implementation experience, including deep Swift and Objective-C.
• Experience leading iOS architecture with unidirectional data flow, declarative UI frameworks, and scalable mobile patterns.
• Experience leading large mobile initiatives across teams, applying AI tools to improve speed, quality, and learning.
• Proven ability to work across team boundaries and disciplines to deliver remarkable solutions.
• Track record shaping team mission and roadmap, mentoring engineers to expand impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead major Neighborhoods mobile workstreams across Cash App and Square.
• Drive cross-team architecture and execution to deliver seamless integration of Neighborhoods features.
• Shape mobile systems connecting customer discovery in Cash App with seller workflows in Square POS.
• Stay hands-on in iOS development using SwiftUI, UIKit, and related technologies.
• Mentor engineers, raise technical bar, and collaborate with product managers and designers.
• Lead as an AI-native product engineer and use AI to multiply impact without sacrificing product taste.
