Optomi is seeking a Staff Software Engineer–Server Infrastructure & Automation to modernize and automate enterprise data center infrastructure. The role emphasizes automation (about 80%) with exposure to both Windows and Linux environments and collaboration across infrastructure teams.

The ideal candidate brings strong infrastructure software engineering background, hands-on automation experience with Python/Ansible, and familiarity with legacy-to-modernization efforts in data centers.

Qualifications

• We seek a strong infrastructure software engineer with hands-on automation experience.
• Proficient in Python and Ansible for provisioning, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems in data center environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop automation solutions for enterprise server infrastructure and data center operations.
• Automate server provisioning, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and lifecycle activities.
• Build and maintain Python and Ansible playbooks and automation frameworks.
• Develop self-monitoring and automated remediation capabilities.
• Automate incident detection and ticket creation through infrastructure monitoring.
• Support bare-metal operating system deployments and lifecycle management.
• Analyze legacy infrastructure and identify opportunities for automation and modernization.
• Develop infrastructure standards, procedures, and automation playbooks.
• Troubleshoot server, operating system, and infrastructure issues.
• Collaborate with data center, network, security, and infrastructure teams.
• Commit automation and infrastructure playbooks into established repositories and operational frameworks.
• Support the transition toward a hybrid cloud infrastructure strategy.
