Temporal is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Infrastructure Foundations to design and build the next version of our multi-cloud platform that runs Temporal Cloud. You will own a significant multi-component system, from APIs to infrastructure state modeling, and coordinate engineers across teams.

You will stay close to code to prove decisions, shape the capability roadmap with the engineering manager, and lead design reviews and incident responses in a fast-growing, cloud-native environment.

Qualifikationen

• 10+ years building software, including distributed infrastructure in production.
• Production infra experience on AWS, GCP, and Azure with Kubernetes-based platforms.
• Deep Kubernetes knowledge: scheduling, controllers and reconciliation, resource management, upgrade safety.
• Proficiency across a diverse set of technologies with Go or another systems language; you still write meaningful code.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; explain complex systems and drive alignment.
• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Aufgaben

• Multi-cloud architecture: design abstractions for AWS, GCP, Azure and absorption of provider differences.
• Own a significant system: design and build the multi-component platform end to end and coordinate engineers.
• Declarative infrastructure model: describe, version, and reconcile components across Kubernetes workloads and cloud resources.
• Deployment control plane: design shared inventory, rollout sequencing, and approvals for safe production changes.
• Reliability by design: ensure bounded blast radius, progressive rollouts, observability, testing, and incident response.
• Roadmap and judgment: build capability roadmap, evaluate requests, weigh risk when unclear.
• Raise the bar: define development process and best practices; coach and hire engineers.
• Cross-team collaboration: work with Traffic, Control Plane, Developer Productivity, Security, and service owners.
