Job summary

Temporal is seeking a senior infrastructure leader to design and operate a multi-cloud foundation powering Temporal Cloud. You will define abstraction models across AWS, GCP, and Azure, build a large-scale distributed platform, and guide cross-functional teams through complex architecture decisions.

You will own the deployment control plane, implement safe rollout strategies, and elevate reliability and observability. Strong Go skills and deep Kubernetes expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building software, including significant time designing and operating distributed infrastructure in production.
• Production infrastructure experience on at least two cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Deep Kubernetes knowledge: scheduling, controllers and reconciliation, resource management, isolation, and upgrade safety.
• Proficiency across a diverse set of technologies with strong coding skills in Go or another systems language.

Responsibilities

• Design the abstraction model for multi-cloud integration (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Own a significant system end-to-end and coordinate engineers across parts.
• Define declarative infrastructure models for reproducible environments and safe reconciliation.
• Design the deployment control plane with rollout sequencing and approvals for safe changes.
• Embed reliability by design: observe, test, and recover with bounded blast radius.
• Define roadmap for the area and balance technical and business risk.
• Mentor senior engineers, lead design reviews, and drive standards.
