Job summary

Heron Power Electronics is seeking a Staff Multidisciplinary Designer to shape products, experiences, and visual language. The role centers on industrial design across physical product design, product UX, and brand, with collaboration across mechanical, electrical, software, and manufacturing teams.

You will own ambiguous problems, move quickly from concept to production, and raise design quality across Heron’s product family in a fast‑moving, highly technical environment.

Qualifications

• Significant professional experience designing and shipping physical products with strong industrial design thinking and craft.
• Strong industrial design fundamentals including form development, product architecture, CMF, ergonomics, and detailing.
• Strong 3D skills with concepts developed through CAD, rendering, prototyping, and physical models.
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams under real manufacturing, cost, and schedule constraints.
• Strong graphic and visual communication skills, including layout, typography, diagrams, and presentation design.
• Ability to frame ambiguous problems, communicate design rationale, and drive work with limited direction.

Responsibilities

• Drive industrial design efforts across Heron Power Electronics products from architecture through production.
• Work with mechanical, electrical, thermal, manufacturing, and systems engineers to translate constraints into outcomes.
• Explore architecture, proportion, form, materials, finishes, interfaces, and details.
• Build quickly using sketches, CAD, prototypes, renderings, and mockups to address design questions.
• Define how people interact with products including installation, operation, service, and labeling.
• Develop visual communication for complex ideas through diagrams, infographics, and product graphics.
• Extend and evolve Heron's visual identity across products and touchpoints.
• Establish design systems and patterns for consistency across products.
