Job summary

Motion in Birmingham, AL seeks a Cyber Defense Engineer IV to perform complex problem analysis and resolution across cloud security, IAM, infrastructure protection, DR engineering, application security, DevSecOps, security tooling and automation, and data loss prevention.

This role executes increasingly complex cyber defense activities within the assigned domain, contributing to secure solutions and best practices. A bachelor’s degree and 8–12 years of experience are typical.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field.
• 8–12 years of related experience or equivalent.
• Certifications in security or related domains are preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of ERP interfaces and legacy systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Impacts multiple areas, functions or processes.
• Designs and constructs moderately complex interfaces between ERP and legacy systems.
• Provides production support of moderately complex applications by troubleshooting, fixes, and migrations.
• Uses back-end and front-end languages to optimize performance, scalability, and security.
• Codes programming logic following design specifications.
• Handles installation, configuration, development, and monitoring of software products.
• Maintains up-to-date records of issues with existing code.
• Monitors quality and performance of applications through testing and maintenance.
• Develops and maintains applications for business processes and systems.
• Ensures adherence to development best practices and standards.
• Identifies opportunities for process improvements and communicates them to drive efficiency.
• Suggests viable solutions to resolve issues with existing software.
• Forecasts, models and analyzes data.
• Performs other assigned duties.
