Job summary

Neon Aero is seeking a Staff-level engineer to own the hardware-in-the-loop test environments for flight-critical actuator control software. You will set technical direction for verification environments, write architecture documents, and ensure traceability and certification readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, computer, aerospace, or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in embedded or aerospace systems, 5+ years leading HIL or lab environments.
• Hands-on with DO-178C verification objectives and DO-330 tool qualification.
• Strong Python skills and experience with real-time test platforms.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end HIL environment including real-time platform, IO, and wiring harnesses.
• Lead platform trade studies and defend recommendations on technical, schedule, cost, and qualification grounds.
• Design real-time motor/load models and CAN interfaces to support multiple architectures.
• Own the Python test framework and hardware abstraction layer for retargetable tests.
• Contribute to SVP/SVCP documents and assist with DO-330 tool qualification strategy.
