Job description

Pennoni Associates is currently seeking a Staff Transportation Engineer to work out of our Pennoni office in Mechanicsburg, PA to perform the following, but not limited to:

1. Coordinating and working with internal staff to perform field work, design calculations, plan preparation, quantity calculations, and submissions to various clients.
2. Transportation geometry design, Highway Occupancy permit preparation and submissions, cross section, grading plans.
3. Erosion and sediment control.
4. Hydrology and drainage calculations.
5. Water and sanitary sewer utility layout and geometry.

Required Attributes

• Experience with PennDOT and Pa Turnpike design criteria.
• Ability to prepare plans for all phases of an engineering design project, applying engineering principles.
• Working knowledge of MicroStation.
• Proficiency with engineering software.

Additional Attributes

• EIT Certification and PE License.
• Ability to work independently, solve engineering design issues, and justify work.
• Willingness to learn and apply new skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proactive in seeking opportunities to improve work products.
