Are you a highway engineering professional with a strong work ethic, eager to learn and the ability to work collectively within a team? We are actively seeking a skilled Highway Staff Engineer II to join our dedicated team in Lehigh Valley, PA. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on impactful projects, contribute to transportation solutions, and grow your expertise in transportation engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Highway Design & Plan Development:
    · Create detailed roadway designs and reports including horizontal and vertical alignments, cross-sections, typical sections, superelevation calculations, etc.
    · Prepare Roadway Construction Plans
    · Prepare Signing and Pavement Marking Plans
    · Prepare Traffic Control Plans
    · Prepare Right-of-Way Plans
    · Assist coordination with utility companies to identify and resolve potential conflicts
    · Lead the preparation of project plans for client presentations and stakeholder review
  2. Documentation & Specifications:
    · Develop comprehensive project specifications, cost estimates, and reports in accordance with PennDOT Pub. 408
    · Prepare project manuals and final bid packages to ensure successful project delivery
  3. Collaboration:
    · Collaborate with internal teams and client technical staff to ensure project success
    · Participate in meetings with clients, providing technical expertise and project updates

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a transportation/highway emphasis (preferred)
  • Minimum of 3+ years of transportation design experience
  • EIT or PE licensure (or ability to secure through reciprocity within 6 months)
  • Familiarity with AASHTO and PENNDOT design standards
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Proficient with Microstation/Inroads/OpenRoads (preferred) and AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Flexibility to travel to job sites, meetings, and HRG offices as necessary (Valid U.S. driver’s license is required)
  • Legal right to work in the U.S.
