Job summary

Google is seeking a Silicon System Architect to drive the hardware/software co-design of next-generation SoCs in Mountain View. You will shape the roadmap for custom IP, SoC platforms, and system software, working with research and platform teams to deliver high-performance, energy-efficient silicon solutions.

The role focuses on optimizing power, performance, and area while guiding complex architectural decisions across the stack, from silicon to applications.

• Partner with Google Research, Pixel, and platform software teams to engineer category-defining features and user experiences.
• Architect end-to-end solutions that optimize for power, performance, and area (PPA) targets.
• Manage complex system-level bottlenecks by advocating bold, creative architectural approaches.

Job description

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience with Mobile/Embedded SoCs.
  
• Experience designing system architecture from a software perspective.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science, with an emphasis on computer architecture.
  
• Expertise with Android architecture, Kernel, frameworks, services, etc.
• Comprehensive knowledge of interactions between software and different IP blocks, general and special purpose compute units.
• Understanding of computer architecture in embedded systems.
• Ability to traverse across the stack from Silicon to Apps.
