Lanteris Space Systems is seeking a Staff Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) Engineer in Palo Alto, CA to design, analyze, and test GNC algorithms and orbital analysis for spacecraft missions. The role covers development, validation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

The position requires a U.S. citizen with a Bachelor’s in Aerospace/Space or related field and 5 years of GNC experience; Master’s preferred.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 5 years of related industry experience in spacecraft GNC systems; Master’s may count for 2 years, PhD may count for 2 years.
• U.S. citizen; solid understanding of GNC and orbital mechanics; full lifecycle GNC development.

Aufgaben

• Independently perform analysis of spacecraft attitude control system performance.
• Conduct simulation and modeling of GNC algorithms.
• Analyze telemetry data from on-orbit spacecraft.
• Develop GNC flight software components and MATLAB/Simulink models.
• Generate technical documentation and analysis reports.
• Develop test scripts and automation tools.
• Contribute to architectural and design decisions.
• Perform GNC hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) testing activities.
• Develop sensor models (gyroscopes, star trackers, magnetometers).
• Develop actuator models (reaction wheels, CMGs, magnetic torque rods, thrusters).
• Prepare test procedures and data analysis scripts.
• Document test results and investigate anomalies.
• Collaborate in design reviews and team meetings.
• Present findings to engineering teams and mentor junior engineers.
