SOCOTEC US is seeking a Staff Geotechnical Engineer (title depending on experience) to conduct geotechnical investigations and analysis, lay out borings for utility clearance, supervise drill rigs, and prepare reports. Responsibilities include soil classification, logging borings, and performing floor level surveys with testing/observation services.
Experience in slope stability and liquefaction analysis is valued.
SOCOTEC has an immediate opening for a Staff Geotechnical Engineer (title depending on experience) to be responsible for the following duties: conducting geotechnical investigations and analysis, performing boring layout for utility clearance, supervising drill rigs, classifying soils, logging borings, test pits, and cores, performing floor level surveys, performing testing and observation services, reviewing plans and specifications, and preparing geotechnical reports and letters. Additionally the Senior Staff Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible for assignment and compilation of laboratory testing and geotechnical calculations, including calculations pertaining to slope stability analysis, liquefaction, dynamic settlement, and pile design.
B.S. in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering.
The successful candidate should have 2+ years of experience, preferably with a geotechnical consulting firm performing duties described above. Candidate should have a thorough understanding and knowledge of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering. Candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, positive attitude, good organizational skills, and a strong work ethic. Must be able to work both independently and as a team member.
