Job summary

SOCOTEC is seeking a Geotechnical Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer to join our Redmond, WA office. You will manage geotechnical, forensic, and construction projects, interfacing directly with clients and guiding project budgets.

The role involves field activities such as logging borings and evaluating hazards, performing analyses like slope stability and settlement, and preparing proposals and technical reports. A PE license and 5+ years’ experience are required.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
• Minimum 5+ years of geotechnical consulting experience
• Familiarity with local engineering practices and California-based projects
• Detail-oriented, team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Manage geotechnical, forensic, and construction projects
• Interact directly with clients and manage project budgets
• Coordinate field activities, including logging borings, test pits, trenches, and cores
• Evaluating geologic and seismic hazards
• Performing forensic evaluations of distressed structures and failed slopes
• Perform engineering analyses, including foundation design and evaluation, slope stability analysis, settlement analysis
• Prepare geotechnical engineering proposals and technical reports
• Provide technical support and mentorship to staff engineers, geologists, and field technicians
• Other duties as assigned by the manager

Skills

We are seeking a Geotechnical Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer to join our Redmond, Lacey, or Wenatchee, Washington office. The successful candidate will manage geotechnical, forensic, and construction projects, working closely with clients and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage geotechnical, forensic, and construction projects
• Interact directly with clients and manage project budgets
• Coordinate and participate in field activities, including:
• Logging borings, test pits, trenches, and cores
• Evaluating geologic and seismic hazards
• Performing forensic evaluations of distressed structures and failed slopes
• Perform engineering analyses, including:
• Foundation design and evaluation
• Slope stability analysis
• Settlement analysis
• Prepare geotechnical engineering proposals and technical reports

Qualifications

Education

Additional Information

Expected salary range: $100,000-120,000 depending on qualifications
