SOCOTEC US is seeking a Staff or Senior Staff Geotechnical Engineer to support a broad set of geotechnical projects. The role blends fieldwork with office analysis, including investigations, calculations, and report writing.

Responsibilities include planning subsurface programs, overseeing drilling crews, logging borings, and coordinating lab testing. Strong teamwork and communication are essential to deliver high-quality geotechnical services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or related field required.
• 2+ years geotechnical experience; consulting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of soil mechanics and subsurface investigation methods essential.
• Ability to perform technical calculations and interpret data.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical investigations and analyses for various project types.
• Plan subsurface exploration programs and coordinate borings.
• Oversee drilling operations and field crews.
• Classify soils and log borings, pits, and cores.
• Perform field observations, testing, and construction support.
• Review plans and geotechnical data to support design.
• Coordinate lab testing and evaluate results.
• Prepare geotechnical reports and recommendations.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field staff.
