Job summary

SOCOTEC US is seeking a Staff Geotechnical Engineer (title depending on experience) to conduct geotechnical investigations and analysis, lay out borings for utility clearance, supervise drill rigs, and prepare reports. Responsibilities include soil classification, logging borings, and performing floor level surveys with testing/observation services.

Experience in slope stability and liquefaction analysis is valued.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering consulting.
• Thorough understanding of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, organized, and hardworking.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical investigations and analysis.
• Perform boring layout for utility clearance and supervise drill rigs.
• Classify soils, log borings, test pits, and cores.
• Perform floor level surveys, testing and observation services.
• Review plans and specifications, and prepare geotechnical reports.
• Assist with lab testing and geotechnical calculations (slope stability, liquefaction, dynamic settlement, pile design).
