Job summary

Cardinal Health – Sonexus Health Pharmacy Services seeks an AI Engineer to design and deliver GenAI-powered applications for healthcare workflows. You will build scalable Python APIs, implement multi‑step agentic processes, and ensure solutions are secure, compliant, and production ready.

You will collaborate with product, data, and operations teams to embed responsible AI practices, monitor models, and optimize deployments across cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, ML, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with Python and related languages.
• 2+ years building GenAI/LLM-based apps in enterprise environments.
• Experience deploying AI in cloud environments (Azure and/or GCP).
• Familiarity with HIPAA or regulated healthcare environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and deploy GenAI applications with RAG, prompts, fine‑tuning, and vector search.
• Build Python‑based APIs and components for scalable AI services.
• Create multi‑step agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph, and LlamaIndex.
• Integrate AI into healthcare and pharmacy workflows (case management, analytics, knowledge systems).
• Deploy, monitor, and optimize GenAI models and pipelines with MLOps best practices.
• Collaborate on cross‑functional teams to meet security, privacy, and compliance needs.
