Job summary

LILT is seeking an experienced Software Engineer for its Internal Tools group to build and maintain the tools used by delivery, contributor‑ops, and engineering teams. You will operate LILT's Applied AI benchmarking platforms, owning architecture, data pipes, and production tooling for reliable, high‑quality delivery.

You will drive long‑term technical strategy, collaborate across delivery and ops, and raise the engineering bar with mentoring and design docs as the surface area expands.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional full‑stack software engineering experience with end‑to‑end ownership
• Deep experience with Python backend (FastAPI) and async SQLAlchemy/Postgres
• Strong React/TypeScript frontend experience with modern data fetching
• Experience building and operating background job/worker systems
• Experience integrating with GitHub API, OAuth/SSO, and multiple LLM APIs
• Experience building Slack bot integrations for internal workflows with guardrails
• Familiarity with applied statistics or ML‑adjacent code
• Solid CI/CD and container deployment expertise (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform)
• Memory management for long‑running Python workers via safe recycling
• Building internal platforms/tools to enable non‑engineering teams

Responsibilities

• Translate benchmark and data‑quality requirements into technical designs
• Own internal workforce tools for AI delivery, including vetting, QC, payments, and reporting
• Lead architecture and long‑term direction across services and platform
• Extend audio/QA pipelines and scoring components
• Design and ship new modules integrating workflows into existing review lifecycle
• Own API provisioning and budget governance systems
• Build ChatOps automation to accelerate annotator workflows
• Harden background processing and job scheduling infrastructure
• Enforce testing, CI/CD, and IaC across codebases
• Raise engineering bar through code reviews, docs, and mentoring
