Qualifications

• Senior full-stack development experience in Go and React, owning complex systems end-to-end.
• Proven experience designing distributed systems or high-availability service architectures.
• Experience designing and consuming REST and WebSocket APIs with solid networking fundamentals.
• Relational database experience including PostgreSQL, schema design, and query optimization.
• Hands-on fluency with AI coding agents for scaffolding, refactors, code review, and test generation.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the architecture and roadmap for Mattermost’s core web platform across multiple teams (Go, React, PostgreSQL, Redis).
• Set org-wide standards for AI-agentic engineering workflows while ensuring security and design integrity.
• Lead testing infrastructure strategy to accelerate delivery and maintain quality across frontend and backend systems.
• Own testing strategy and quality bar, mentoring engineers and driving design reviews.
• Drive REST and WebSocket API design decisions grounded in networking fundamentals.
• Partner with security, compliance, and product leadership to meet government and enterprise requirements.
• Mentor senior engineers and act as a technical multiplier.
• Contribute to and shape direction for Mattermost’s open-source codebase.
