Job summary

Databricks’ Agentic Applications team seeks a Staff Software Engineer to deliver end-to-end applications that empower our employees with assistive technologies. You will define the technical roadmap, design critical systems, mentor engineers, and act as the technical leader for the team.

You will partner with product, design, and other engineering groups to build AI-powered solutions, raise the bar on engineering excellence, and tackle the most challenging technical issues facing the team.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of engineering leadership experience.
• Experience building end-to-end, cloud-native applications.
• Customer obsession and product-minded approach.
• Strong communication and ability to influence stakeholders.
• History of raising the engineering quality bar and driving execution.
• Ability to collaborate across product, engineering, and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical roadmap and lead architectural decisions for in-house solutions.
• Design critical software systems powering internal workflows.
• Mentor junior engineers and serve as technical owner for the team.
• Partner with product management, design, and other engineering teams to deliver end-to-end AI-powered solutions.
• Drive engineering excellence through design reviews, testing strategies, and incident management.
