Job summary

Walmart in Bentonville, AR seeks a Staff Software Engineer to lead scalable platform capabilities and AI/ML framework development. You will drive the full software lifecycle, apply cloud-native principles, and mentor engineers to uphold high standards of quality and integrity.

The role collaborates across teams to translate business needs into technical solutions, promote continuous improvement, and advance engineering productivity and innovation for the People Technology group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
• Alternatively, 6 years' experience in software engineering or related area.

Responsibilities

• Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap priorities.
• Drive full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient systems.
• Lead system design reviews to validate quality and alignment with architectural standards.
• Build AI-driven applications integrating ML components and automation features.
• Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and track success metrics.
• Continuously improve processes, tools, and products through innovation and feedback integration.
