Vetcove Inc. is seeking a Staff Frontend Engineer to lead architecture across our veterinary software platforms, powering clinician workflows and pet-parent experiences.

You will own frontend systems used by thousands of professionals and millions of pet parents, shaping scalable, high-quality interfaces. You’ll collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to drive frontend strategy, establish best practices, and scale applications for performance and maintainability.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with a strong frontend focus.
• Expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (React).
• Bachelor's degree in CS or a technical field.
• Experience architecting and scaling complex frontend applications and systems.
• Strong understanding of performance optimization and frontend architecture patterns.
• Experience building design systems or shared component libraries.
• Familiarity with mobile development (React Native) is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and a product-minded mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of large-scale frontend applications for web and mobile.
• Build and evolve high-performance React and React Native apps.
• Define and enforce frontend best practices, performance, accessibility, and maintainability.
• Develop shared component libraries, design systems, and frontend infrastructure.
• Drive improvements in performance, reliability, and user experience.
• Partner with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver cohesive features.
• Mentor junior frontend engineers.
• Influence technical direction and frontend strategy across product areas.
• Debug and resolve complex frontend and cross-stack issues.
