Job summary

GitLab is seeking a Staff Forward Deployed Engineer focused on Agentic SDLC and AI adoption. You will diagnose complex issues at strategic customers, contribute production-grade code, and drive durable improvements while partnering with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams.

You will work across GitLab's platform stack, including Ruby/Rails, Go, and cloud technologies, to deliver impactful outcomes in collaboration with senior customer stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong experience contributing to large production software with high testing standards.
• Deep understanding of modern DevSecOps workflows and enterprise delivery.
• Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with field-facing engineering for strategic customers.

Responsibilities

• Contribute production-quality code to GitLab's product and adjacent systems.
• Fix bugs, implement features, and optimize performance for strategic customers.
• Work within standard product and engineering processes (issues, MR, tests, docs).
• Influence product direction to align with long-term customer needs.
• Translate blockers into durable product improvements and reusable patterns.
• Collaborate across Product, Engineering, SRE, Support, and Customer teams.
