Job summary

SK hynix memory solutions America Inc. seeks a Staff Firmware Test Developer to own security validation for enterprise NVMe SSD firmware, from architecture to production sign-off.

You will design, build, and execute test strategies ensuring data protection and interoperability across FPGA and ASIC platforms. You will work at the intersection of firmware, hardware, and security, validating features like Secure Boot, SPDM Firmware Attestation, and NVMe Security Requirements, while driving

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years validating security features in firmware or embedded systems.
• Experience with NVMe SSDs, storage controllers, or similar hardware platforms.
• Strong with automated test frameworks using Python, C, or JavaScript and CI/CD.
• Experience debugging low-level firmware/hardware using JTAG or logic analyzers.
• Knowledge of NVMe, PCIe, and storage security standards.
• Experience with FPGA or ASIC platforms.
• Strong ownership mindset to build security into design.

Responsibilities

• Security validation from architecture review to production sign-off.
• Debug and root-cause security failures with cross-team collaboration.
• Define and execute test strategies proving secure-by-design.
• Own test coverage and quality gates for security-critical features.
• Track and implement upcoming security standards (TCG Storage, etc.).
• Collaborate across firmware, hardware, and security teams to translate specs into tests.
