Job summary
Burns & McDonnell in Chicago seeks an Staff Environmental Scientist to assist with environmental and siting studies, permitting, and data analysis for renewable, transmission, power, and water projects.
You will participate in site visits, field studies, technical reports, and GIS-based map production while supporting NEPA documentation and compliance audits. A driver’s license and US work authorization are required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or similar with 4 years of related experience.
- Master's degree with 3 years of related experience.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Clear verbal and written communication.
- GPS and ArcGIS proficiency.
- Valid driver's license.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Assist in environmental and siting studies and permitting applications.
- Conduct site visits and collect data for environmental analyses.
- Prepare technical reports, photologs, and field studies.
- Support GIS data usage for map production.
- Assist with environmental site investigations and compliance audits.
- Prepare NEPA documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies.
