Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants seeks a Staff Environmental Engineer or Scientist in Raleigh, NC to support environmental management and site assessments. The role involves fieldwork, sampling across media, vapor intrusion assessments, and regulatory compliance within a dynamic consulting environment.

Ideal candidates have a geoscience or engineering background with 2+ years of related experience, willingness to travel, and proficiency in data analysis and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in geology or environmental, civil, or chemical engineering is required.
• 2+ years of related experience preferred; field work and travel are required.
• Health & Safety training and drug/background testing are required and provided by Geosyntec.
• Valid U.S. driver's license with satisfactory driving record for business travel.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fieldwork including soil, groundwater, and surface water sampling and oversight.
• Perform vapor intrusion assessments and design mitigation systems.
• Conduct environmental due diligence (Phase I/II) and regulatory compliance tasks.
• Analyze data and prepare maps, tables, and figures; write technical reports and proposals.
• Support brownfields redevelopment and coordinate with clients and contractors.
