Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Staff Environmental Engineer to join our geotechnical and environmental remediation teams in Chicago. You will contribute to design and field projects, lead tasks, mentor junior staff, and coordinate across disciplines to deliver cohesive remediation solutions.

You will perform design calculations, prepare technical reports, and manage project budgets and schedules, with travel up to 20%. A strong engineering background and EIT are required, with progression toward PE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an appropriate area of engineering.
• Hold Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification and actively working towards Professional Engineer (PE) Certification.
• 4 or more years' relevant experience in engineering.
• Detailed knowledge of relevant national standards and codes of practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist with environmental remediation and geotechnical design projects.
• Prepare remedial construction documents, calculations, and reports.
• Lead design efforts for remediation projects including sheet piles, walls, foundations.
• Coordinate with various design disciplines to produce cohesive documents.
• Delegate to junior staff or drafting staff to produce design drawings.
• Participate in budgets, change orders, and client meetings.
• Traveling (up to 20%) for field activities.
