Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to join the Wallets, Liquidity & Bridging team within the Platform organization. You will own architecture and direction for wallet infrastructure that moves crypto assets across 55+ blockchain protocols for millions of users.

You will build and operate backend services in Go, drive SOA improvements, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and secure systems while mentoring engineers and shaping standards.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with Go and large-scale distributed systems.
• Proven track record in building and operating production backend services with high throughput and reliability.
• Hands-on blockchain experience including transaction construction, signing, broadcasting, or cross-chain bridging across Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana.
• Experience decomposing monolithic systems into microservices used by multiple teams.
• Influences technical direction across teams without direct authority.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap for wallet, liquidity, and bridging systems.
• Build and evolve Go-based backend services that orchestrate liquidity movements and cross-chain bridging.
• Drive SOA improvements by decomposing legacy systems into modular platform services.
• Partner with Trading, Custody, Staking, and cross-platform teams to define integration contracts.
• Lead reliability and observability, incident response, and systemic improvements for Tier-0 systems.
• Shape engineering standards and mentor engineers.
