The Advanced Controller Development (ACD) team within Samsung’s Memory Business Unit focuses on developing storage (SSD) controllers to address Cloud & Data center challenges. We collaborate closely with development teams to innovate and bring new features to market.

What You’ll Do

1. Understand system-architecture and micro-architecture to develop verification environments.
2. Create verification plans (Vplan) and requirements (VRs) based on architecture specifications.
3. Generate constraints for random test cases (directed, focused, etc.).
4. Develop coverage models for functional coverage.
5. Create SystemVerilog Assertions (SVAs) to enhance function coverage.
6. Conduct verification reviews with designers and architects to approve VRs.
7. Develop automated verification flows for regression testing.

Location: Onsite at our San Jose HQ or Folsom office, in line with our Flexible Work policy.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent + 10+ years of enterprise software development experience in C/C++ on Linux, or Master’s in related fields + 8+ years, or PhD + 5+ years in ASIC verification.
• Expertise in HVL methodology (UVM).
• Strong skills in constrained random testing and debugging.
• Proficiency in C++, Assembly programming.
• Knowledge of coverage models, verification flow, and tools.
• Experience with storage interfaces like PCIe, DRAM, CPUs.
• Deep understanding of flash memory controller architecture and SOC verification processes.
• Familiarity with storage technologies for data centers (NAND, SSD, etc.) and emerging tech like CXL, memory/storage computation, Ethernet-attached SSDs.
• Experience with performance modeling of embedded systems is a plus.
• Innovative problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and collaborate across teams and geographies.

What We Offer

Competitive pay range: $157,000—$243,000 USD, depending on experience and location. Additional incentives and comprehensive benefits support your wellbeing, including health coverage, retirement plans, paid time off, family support, wellness programs, and flexible work arrangements.
