What You'll Do

The Advanced Controller Development (ACD) team is part of Samsung's Memory Business Unit, a leader in DRAM and NAND Flash technology and volume production. ACD's vision is to solve key problems in Cloud & Data center environments by developing new memory and storage technologies. We are integral to Samsung's R&D focus and innovation engine. We work closely with development teams to bring feature innovation to our product roadmaps.

We are seeking an experienced SOC Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the infrastructure and systems that support our Silicon on Chip (SOC) design and verification teams. This includes ensuring the security, availability, and performance of our design tools, systems, and networks.

Location: Daily onsite presence at our San Jose Headquarters, in alignment with our Flexible Work policy, with an average of 10% travel per month.

  • Design, develop, and maintain the IT infrastructure for our SOC design environments.
  • Collaborate with architects, designers, and engineers to define and implement IT infrastructure requirements for SOC design.
  • Develop and maintain scripts, tools, and methodologies for automating IT infrastructure tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex issues related to IT infrastructure for SOC design.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Participate in the development of technical documentation for IT infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with external partners to integrate our SOCs into their systems and applications.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in SOCs and adapt them to improve our products.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree with 15+ years of relevant industry experience, or Master's with 13+ years, or PhD with 10+ years in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering focused on semiconductor design.
  • 8+ years of experience working in SOC or ASIC design environments.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure components such as compute clusters, storage systems, and network architecture.
  • Experience with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools including:
  • Frontend design tools like Synopsys Design Compiler, IC Compiler, PrimeTime, Cadence Encounter Digital Implementation System, Virtuoso, and Innovus.
  • Strong understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems and scripting languages such as Python or Perl.
  • Proficiency with version control systems including Perforce (P4), Git, and Bitbucket.

Base Pay Range: $180,950—$289,050 USD
