Job summary

Hinge Health is seeking a Staff Engineer to drive the technical direction for new MSK programs and scale existing offerings. You’ll design greenfield features, reinforce shared services, and collaborate with product and partner teams to deliver end-to-end programs for members.

You will mentor engineers, elevate engineering practices, and ensure reliability, performance, and quality as usage grows across multiple services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years TypeScript/JavaScript across the stack (Node.js/NestJS backend; React or React Native frontend).
• 2+ years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and containerization tools.
• 2+ years of experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar), distributed systems, and microservices architectures.
• 2+ years of experience mentoring or leading other engineers and collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead through influence: tackle ambiguous, complex problems and set direction via your work, design docs, and mentorship.
• Bring new programs of care to life: design and deliver MSK programs, building features and workflows for differentiation.
• Strengthen what's live: improve reliability, performance, and quality as programs scale.
• Extend our shared platform: work within NestJS backend, React Native app, PostgreSQL to support new programs.
• Partner with Product: translate strategy into technical plans and surface trade-offs.
• Collaborate across teams: coordinate with partner engineers for cohesive member experiences.
• Elevate engineering practices: champion CI/CD, testing, and monitoring; mentor others.
