Job summary

Rippling is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to anchor the Money Movement & Treasury architecture hub in Seattle. You will own the design and implementation of a deterministic, config-driven ledger that serves as the guardrail for tax and payment liabilities.

You will lead a lean, high-impact Financial Services team, building a scalable ledger, while collaborating with Payments Data, Tax and Accounting to modernize reconciliation logic across the platform.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Ability to design large-scale fault-tolerant systems from scratch
• Thrives in ambiguous environments and identifies problems and solutions
• Mastery of treasury and money movement domains is a plus
• Proficiency in modern backend languages (Python, Go, Java) and data modeling

Responsibilities

• Architect the Foundation: redesign General Ledger and reconciliation systems for determinism
• Unify the Abstraction: create universal primitives across disparate payment systems
• Build the Engine: develop reconciliation replay and testing framework with data teams
• Technical Leadership: anchor the Seattle site and mentor senior engineers
• Cross Functional Execution: collaborate with Payments Data, Tax and Accounting teams to replace legacy logic and ensure compliance
