Job summary

VB Spine, a leading spine medical devices company, is seeking a Staff Engineer in Leesburg, VA (or Allendale, NJ). You will design complex mechanical components for implants and instruments, lead major programs, and work with R&D, QA, manufacturing, and regulatory teams to advance product evolution and sustaining projects.

The role requires a BS in engineering (MS preferred), 4+ years of experience, and strong CAD/DFM capabilities.

Qualifications

BS in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
4+ years of relevant mechanical design experience.
Strong knowledge of DFM and materials used in medical devices.
Proficiency in Creo or SolidWorks with GD&T and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

Interface with surgeons and sales to gather input for design and evaluation of product enhancements.
Develop innovative solutions that meet customer needs in surgical devices.
Independently design, develop, modify, and verify mechanical components and subsystems.
Lead large projects and collaborate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, and Marketing teams.
Prepare and review design histories, change controls, and regulatory documentation.
Mentor team members on design controls, risk management, and DFMEA practices.
