Job summary

AlphaSense is seeking a senior Staff Engineer to lead the identity and access platform that supports our growing customer base. You will design, build, and scale authentication, authorization, and user management systems, collaborating with security teams to ensure secure-by-design solutions.

You will work across North America and Helsinki, aligning with cross-timezone teams, and contribute to a platform-centric engineering culture with a focus on reliability and observability.

Qualifications

• Backend: Java 2.x, Spring Boot 3.x, WebFlux, Maven.
• Cloud & infra: AWS, Kubernetes, Helm.
• Identity & security protocols: RBAC/ABAC/ReBAC; OAuth/OIDC; SAML 2.0; SSO federation.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve the authorization platform across teams.
• Design and evolve authentication across use cases, working with Auth0 integration.
• Develop and manage the user management platform for provisioning and entitlements.
• Partner with security teams to ensure secure-by-design systems for SOC2/GDPR.
