Job summary

Omnissa, based in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a Staff Engineer to design and build large-scale distributed systems powering its core platform. You will own system design, performance, and operational excellence for high-throughput services.

You will work on data processing, service orchestration, and reliability engineering, spanning Go backend development, Kubernetes or HashiStack, and modern tech like Kafka and OpenSearch. Hybrid location.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on backend systems and distributed architectures.
• Experience building large-scale distributed systems and microservices.
• Strong understanding of system design principles including scalability and fault tolerance.
• Hands-on Linux expertise and performance diagnostics.
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes or HashiStack).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, high-performance backend systems with Go.
• Own end-to-end architecture including service decomposition and API design.
• Drive performance optimizations and identify bottlenecks with profiling tools.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues across multi-service environments.
• Build and operate systems using Kafka, PostgreSQL, OpenSearch and Redis for high-scale workloads.
• Design and operate services in Docker containers orchestrated by Kubernetes or HashiStack.
• Collaborate with Product, SRE, and Security teams to deliver secure, production-ready solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in code reviews and design reviews.
